Dick Dale is the stage name of world-renowned, pioneering and seminal surf rock guitarist Richard Monsour, whose breakneck speed and intense distortion are epitomised by his instantly recognisable single “Miserlou”, hailing from Boston, Mass.

Dubbed the “King of Surf Guitar”, Dick Dale is arguably the world’s most influential guitar player having introduced Middle Eastern scales two decades before they were popularised. Compounded by his intense single-note staccato picking, which would influence the likes of Eddie Van Halen, and wild stage bravado later adopted by Jimi Hendrix, Dale also stretched the limits of guitar amplification working closely with Fender.
